Crate
Terminal music player · Early prototype · 2026
Crate is for music kept in folders. Browse artists, albums, and tracks with the keyboard, and play local files from a small terminal interface.
There is no account, cloud library, or streaming service. The current prototype focuses on folder navigation and basic playback on macOS, with an optional static waveform overview.
It is still an early experiment: features such as seeking, true pause and resume, and native media keys are not implemented yet.
